Position OverviewAmerican Guard Services (AGS) is seeking highly experienced professionals for the role of Elite Armed Security Guard. This position is reserved for top-tier candidates with extensive operational experience in law enforcement, military service, or high-level private security. Elite guards are expected to demonstrate advanced judgment, strong command presence, exceptional firearms proficiency, and strict adherence to AGS policies, post orders, and Colorado law. Minimum Qualifications (Required)Applicants must meet one of the following:- Prior Law Enforcement Officer (no history of serious disciplinary action), or- Prior or current Military service (must be active or honorably discharged), or- Minimum 4 years armed security experience AND 8 years unarmed security experienceAdditional requirements:- Must successfully pass an FBI fingerprint-based background check- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening- Must pass a basic work clearance physical- Valid driver's license required- Must have reliable personal vehicle- Must have or be able to obtain all required city licenses for armed security work- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods- Must be able to lift and carry at least 40 pounds- Professional appearance, strong communication skills, and sound decision-making ability required Required Gear- Fully equipped duty kit, including:- Duty belt, inner belt, 4--8 keepers, and approved Level II or III retention holster (Safariland ALS/SLS, Blackhawk T-Series, Comp-Tac, Blade-Tech Valor, Alien Gear Rapid Force, DARA, or comparable)- Duty handgun (examples include Glock 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 45, 47, 48; Beretta 92FS; H&K VP9 or USP; Walther PDP; SIG P226 or P320; S&W M&P 1.0 or 2.0)- 3--4 Colorado-compliant magazines (15 rounds or fewer)- Duty ammunition (self-defense JHP cartridges only)- Baton (26 inches or less), OC gel, handcuffs, and approved pouches/holders- All-black external vest or carrier with Level IIIA (or higher) armor, front and rear panels- Professional footwear: slip-resistant, all-black boots or duty shoes Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Provide armed security services at assigned client sites throughout the Denver metro area- Maintain a high-visibility deterrent presence while conducting patrols and access control- Respond to incidents in accordance with AGS use-of-force policy and post orders- Prepare accurate and professional Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and Incident Reports- Work closely with site leadership, Field Supervisors, and law enforcement as needed- De-escalate conflicts using professional communication and command presence- Maintain readiness of issued and personally assigned equipment Work Environment & Expectations- Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required- Must maintain compliance with AGS uniform, equipment, and readiness standards at all times Compensation$38.00 per hour, based on qualifications, licensing status, and assignment.
