Return Polymersis hiring2nd and 3rd ShiftOperators------------------------------------------------------------------------Return Polymersis a Process and Recovery recycling facilityLocation: 5955 W 80th St, Indianapolis, IN 46278We are seeking Recycling Operator's to join our team for 2nd and 3rd shiftsContract to Hire - Full time 40/Hr. per weekOperators:STARTING AT $21.000/HR for 2nd shift, $21.50 /HR for 3rd shift------------------------------------------------------------------------Job DescriptionThe Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and productive operation of various machines, including Granulator, Shredder, Color System, Wet Sorter System, and/or Extruder. This role involves material handling and ensuring the production of high-quality products.Responsibilities- Understand, follow, and apply information from the Run Instruction Sheet (RIS). Set up, run, shut down, troubleshoot, clean, and perform general maintenance on machines.- Take regular samples and systematically probe boxes as directed by RIS. Report inequities to lab personnel and supervisors.- Clean boxes, lids, and skids thoroughly before use. Dispose of any substandard material before reusing.- Complete the Run Number Time Log at the end of each shift.- Update RIS as needed and pass information to supervisors promptly.- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.- Maintain and complete logs for production ledgers and quality control.- Complete Work in Process (WIP) or Ready for Sale (RFS) tags.- Compute weights accurately using gross, tare, and net figures.- Weigh material in boxes and hoppers and record weights correctly.- Become a certified operator on both a forklift and aerial lift as needed.- Assist with training new associates.- Load and unload material and place it into inventory locations using a forklift or pallet jack.- Compute pounds per hour processed during runs.- Compute percentages to document various run conditions and productivity standards.- Prepare boxes for material by placing labels in proper locations and/or removing extra labels.- Participate in shift meetings and training sessions.Essential Skills- Manufacturing experience working around machines is preferred.- Ability to perform mathematical computations, including adding, subtracting, and calculating percentages.- Good handwriting for record-keeping purposes.- Experience troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.- Sit down forklift experience.- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift outside of breaks.- Ability to lift up to 65 lbs., not repetitively.- Comfortable with heights, capable of working on an aerial lift as needed.- Steel-toed or composite-toed shoes are required.- Availability to work mandated Saturdays if business dictates.Additional Skills and Qualifications- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.- Experience with machine operation and quality checks.- Experience in production, general labor, and material handling.- Knowledge of plastics manufacturing, injection molding, and extrusion processes.Why Work Here?Our facility offers a rapidly growing environment with opportunities for career advancement. Employees should be prepared for a setting with some dust and noise, requiring hearing and eye protection. The temperature can be hot in the summer and comfortable in the winter. PPE requirements include steel or composite-toed shoes, clothing that does not pose safety risks, and personal hygiene standards. The facility operates multiple shifts: 1st Shift (7:30am - 4:00pm), 2nd Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am), and 3rd Shift (11:30pm - 8:00am). No cell phones or smart watches are allowed on the production floor.Job Type and LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
