Lewis & Clark County Public Works is hiring for a Lead Custodian- Deep Cleaner. Under general supervision from the Buildings Maintenance Supervisor, this position performs routine custodial, deep cleaning, and maintenance duties in County buildings and acts as a lead worker.Pay: $20.2 - $23.77 / HourWho We AreThe Building Maintenance Division is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the following County-owned buildings.RequirementsThe knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position are acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to high school graduation and one (1) year facility maintenance or janitorial/cleaning experience. One (1) year of lead worker experience preferred.SummaryDutiesu2022 Performs routine facilities maintenance, deep cleaning, and custodial tasks;u2022 Vacuums and deep cleans carpets;u2022 Dust mops common areas;u2022 Deep cleans as needed;u2022 Wet mops restrooms and common areas;u2022 Strips, waxes and buffs common areas;u2022 Shampoos carpets;u2022 Cleans restrooms;u2022 Replenishes restroom supplies;u2022 Sweeps and dusts stairways and damp mops as needed;u2022 Dusts and cleans meeting rooms;u2022 Rearranges large tables and chairs as needed;u2022 Informs supervisor of needed supplies;u2022 Performs light maintenance and repairs;u2022 Replaces light bulbs;u2022 Checks work areas for security and energy loss;u2022 Secures buildings and facilities at end of shift;u2022 Light snow removal, checking for icy conditions, and applying sand;u2022 Leads and directs the work of others;u2022 Trains and assists new employees and current employee;u2022 Performs other duties as assigned.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities required for this job. One (1) year of lead worker experience preferred.Special RequirementsMust pass a pre-employment background check and have a valid drivers license.Physical DemandsDuties are generally performed in both indoor and outdoor environments where hazards and discomforts are generally controlled and modifiable. Position performs work in all types of weather in the presence of chemicals, fertilizers, and dust. This position must be able to stand, twist, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 100 pounds on a brief and random basis.
