As a Construction / Documentation Engineer, youu2019ll join our collaborative team providing our clients with award-winning engineering, construction management, and design-build project delivery. We are looking for a construction engineer with a background in Illinois roadway, bridge, and transit construction. Responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to:u2022 Reports to and is responsible for supporting the Project Manager or Resident Engineeru2022 Review and understanding of construction plans, specifications, submittals, and contract documentsu2022 Prepare regular status reports and maintain current and accurate records.u2022 Document meeting minutesu2022 Review inspector daily reports and material documentationu2022 Maintain the project quantity booku2022 Keep Project Manager and/or Resident Engineer informed of the Contractoru2019s progress and activitiesu2022 Support project administration tasksu2022 Review contractor QC documentation and checklistsu2022 Perform daily inspections to verify that the Contractor work is being completed in accordance with the contract documentsu2022 Prepare daily construction reports that identify the contractor workforce, equipment, and activities, site visitors, and includes daily progress photosu2022 Report and document any field conditions that deviate from the ContractIn this role, you'll also communicate with all members of the Jacobs team, client, and contractor and work together to mitigate or eliminate project risks. Working together, weu2019ll help you design your career and pursue what fulfills you so that we can make impacts on the future - big and small, global and local.#LM1236 u2022 2 - 5 years of experience in roadway, bridge, utility, and/or transit-rail construction engineering and inspection servicesu2022 Current IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities certificationu2022 Ability to commute to/from project locations in the greater Chicago areau2022 Experience on Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), Illinois State Toll Highway Authority (ISTHA), and/or Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) projectsu2022 Working knowledge/experience utilizing eBuilder and/or CMMSu2022 Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlooku2022 Excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skillsIdeally, youu2019ll also have:u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in engineering, construction management, or related disciplineu2022 Engineer in Training (EIT) certification and/or Professional Engineer (PE) licenseu2022 Proficiency with Bluebeamu2022 Working knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Microsoft ProjectJacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
