Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Midland, Texas. In this long-term contract position, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of accounting processes. This is a great opportunity for professionals experienced in reconciliation, fixed assets, and corporate tax functions. Responsibilities: u2022 Perform account reconciliations, including bank accounts, balance sheets, and daily financial transactions. u2022 Manage fixed and capital assets by tracking, recording, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate general ledger records. u2022 Analyze and resolve account discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy. u2022 Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions. u2022 Utilize systems like Open Invoice and Ariba for efficient invoice management. u2022 Assist in preparing corporate and sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulations. u2022 Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities. u2022 Monitor and improve accounting procedures to optimize operations. u2022 Collaborate with other departments to address financial queries and reporting needs. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in fixed assets management and account reconciliation. u2022 Strong understanding of corporate and sales tax processes. u2022 Proficiency in accounting systems such as Open Invoice and Ariba. u2022 Ability to work with general ledger and prepare accurate journal entries. u2022 Solid knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. u2022 Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills. u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools. u2022 Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams.
