JOB REQUIREMENTS: Wisconsin Building Supply operates locationsthroughout Wisconsin supplying windows, doors, roofing, siding,millwork, builders hardware, columns, trim, mouldings, cabinetry,countertops, decking, railing, gypsum, lumber & plywood, insulation, andadditional building materials. . A Brief Overview The CDL Driver I isresponsible for the safe, efficient transportation of materials tovarious job sites and other locations. This role requires maintaining aClass A or B Driver's license, inspecting and maintaining trucks,reporting shortages and claims to supervisors, and assisting in loadingand storing of materials. Drivers must perform pre- and post-tripinspections, manage logs, and adhere to hours-of-service requirements.What you will do Operates Class A or B commercial vehicles in a safe,compliant, and efficient manner. Responsible for deliveries to bothactive construction sites and completed build locations; city-baseddeliveries and inter-state travel may be required. Performs thoroughpre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections to ensure vehicle safety andcompliance with federal regulations. Provides exceptional customerservice by maintaining a professional demeanor, addressing client needs,representing the company positively during all interactions, andrelaying messages received from customers while on job sites. Organizesand secures loads to ensure safe transport and verifies orders foraccuracy before departure and upon delivery. Adheres to all regulationsand safety guidelines established by the U.S. Department ofTransportation (DOT) and complies with all regulations and conditionsoutlined in applicable permits. Prepares and maintains accurateDOT-compliant logs of driving hours, on-duty time, and rest periods inaccordance with federal regulations. Delivers and unloads materialsaccurately and safely, ensuring customer satisfaction at the point ofdelivery. Records all merchandise returned by truck and assists inunloading materials returned for credit, ensuring proper documentationand handling. Safely and efficiently operates a truck-mounted forkliftto load, unload, and transport materials at job sites. Maintains thecleanliness and organization of the truck, ensuring it is well-kept andready for operation. Assist with stocking and organizing inventory inthe warehouse and production areas.
