You will research, investigate, organize, and collaborate to ensure achievement of team goals in an ethical and inclusive work environment. _Because this role requires you to access controlled technology pursuant to U.S. Department of Energy or u201cDOEu201d regulations at 10 C.F.R. Part 810, you must be a u201cU.S. personu201d as defined by the regulation. u201cU.S. personu201d is defined under U.S. law to mean citizens of the United States, U.S. lawful permanent residents, or U.S. u201cprotected personsu201d under 8 U.S.C u00a7 1324b(a)(3) (i.e., political refugees and political asylum holders)._ #LI-JL1 # Major Responsibilities: + Serve as paralegal on insured litigation and claims, specifically including latent claims and exposure-related claims + Conduct internal searches, coordinate and communicate with company records managers to identify records potentially responsive to subpoenas and written discovery requests + Work with company personnel, external law firms, and vendors to investigate and research claims and to compile information and documents potentially responsive to subpoenas and written discovery requests + Coordinate with internal litigation support group and external vendors regarding processing of records for outside counsel review and production + Track, organize, and file documents related to law firms and vendors, using various software systems and databases + Input, process, facilitate and track payment of law firm and vendor invoices, including preparing reimbursement requests for such expenses + Maintain litigation and claims databases and prepare reports + Develop and implement processes and workflows; monitor litigation workflows to ensure deadlines are met + Accept, track, review, and distribute legal documents received via service of process + Review records scheduled for destruction at the end of their required business retention period for compliance with internal processes. + Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to pitch in and help. # Education and Experience Requirements: + Bacheloru2019s degree or equivalent + 10+ years of relevant experience in law firm or corporate legal department + Proficiency in Excel + _Applicants must possess the ability to safely lift Bankersu2019 boxes of documents from floor level.
