Solstice Advanced Materials is seeking a Machinist and all shifts are open This is a direct hire position with Solstice. Solstice Advanced Materials, Spokane, WA is a seeking a Level 2 Machinist to play a crucial role in operating and maintaining our machining equipment needed to produce high-quality parts and components. You will work with a team of skilled technicians and collaborate with other departments to meet production goals and customer requirements. _This position comes with a $5,000 sign on bonus_ Position Summary Perform all machining operations required to produce finished products from a variety of materials. Work from blueprints, specifications, job layouts, and written and/or oral instructions for the successful set-up and operation of manual machine tools and set-up/operation of CNC machine tools, dimensional inspection, data collection, and paperwork completion KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include but not limited to: u2022 Successfully create parts from a blueprint, manufacturing operations and tooling instructions, or engineering instructions. u2022 Set-up and operate CNC and manual lathes, mills, grinders, etc., to very close tolerances Use micrometers/other measuring instruments in order to perform quality control checks on parts in-process and upon completion u2022 Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner u2022 Recommend changes to processes or procedures to improve quality and productivity Exercise care and safe work practices - work requires close tolerances and fine finishes Tasks may include development parts, depending upon production demands and product mix u2022 Determine which of several alternatives to use in conjunction with the programmer to accomplish tasks u2022 Make simple program changes and fixture modifications via manual edits u2022 Solve problems and deviations in accordance with previous training; interact with engineers to find solutions to new or unusual problems u2022 Enter process data when required u2022 Perform necessary tasks and paperwork for the proper movement and control of parts and material in conjunction with manufacturing tracking system u2022 Actively participate in Solstice Structured Safety Process (SSP) activities, attend daily safety meetings, complete daily, weekly, and monthly safety related tasks. Accountable for work station or work cell housekeeping. u2022 Perform daily job functions in accordance with policies from: EH&S, Quality, and housekeeping. u200b Shift Hours: Monday - Thursday 5:00 pm - 3:30 am or Thursday 11:00 pm - 5:00am and Friday - Sunday 5:00pm to 5:00am Responsibilities Qualifications MUST HAVE u2022 High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. u2022Completion of Machine Shop Technology program with machinist-level experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of training and experience. u2022 Proficiency in operating and maintaining CNC machining equipment u2022 Strong attention to detail and quality control WE VALUE u2022 Technical certification or degree in machining or related field u2022 Experience with CNC machining u2022Knowledge of programming and CAD/CAM software u2022Ability to read and understand blue-prints. u2022Experience with manual lathe u2022Experience machining tantalum, copper and/or aluminum preferred. COMPENSATION The annual base salary range for this position is $25.50 per hour plus shift differential ($1.50 - $7 depending on shift) .
