Transmission Schedulers are responsible for maintaining the reliability of the Bulk Electric System during planned and unplanned outages. Employees at the entry level of this job family apply acquired education and experience to work situations and exercise independent judgment on basic projects and assignments. They provide support to management and higher level professionals. Responsibilities include: u2022 Processing switching requests submitted by regions u2022 Analyzing outage requests for contingencies u2022 Maintaining compliance with PJM outage coordination requirements u2022 Coordinating outages with internal and external sources u2022 Preparing Four Day Out study, analyzing reliability issues and providing solutions u2022 Modeling scheduled outages in EMS/RTS to identify contingencies and/or overloads. Providing solutions to scheduling concerns u2022 Writing procedures for taking equipment out of service, restoring to service and test energizing u2022 Providing support to Operators regarding switching controls u2022 Providing technical support to control centers u2022 Administration of databases used to support the control centers u2022 Preparing scheduling reports for operating companies u2022 Providing assistance during emergencies and storm related activities An employee hired at the Transmission Scheduler II or Ill level will be expected to perform all of the above responsibilities with more proficiency, and in a more independent manner. Further, the Transmission Scheduler II or Ill level employee will be assigned additional responsibilities related to those above u2022 Recommend and implement improvements to work processes u2022 Recommend and implement solutions to moderately complex issues and assignments Qualifications at the Transmission Scheduler I level include: u2022 Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field is required u2022 0-2 years of related experience is required.
