Our program delivers depth and real experience so that you can truly evaluate potential career paths within the work we do.What we look for in our Commissioning Interns:Must be pursuing or have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy & Building Systems, or a related field. Junior student standing or higher required.Availability in Summer 2026 (May/June start until August/September depending on school)Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be detail-oriented, well organized, and possess excellent follow-up skills.Must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, and work independently.HVAC training/educationMust be 18 years of age or olderWhat are our Commissioning Interns responsible for:AnalysisAssist Commissioning Engineer perform design reviews of construction documents before construction phase.Assist Commissioning Engineer perform site visits and operation tests in existing buildings.Perform static commissioning on a variety of HVAC systems for the purpose of validating completion and proper installationProject SupportRecord accurate, complete, and legible data onto appropriate formsWork with Coordinator to schedule required equipment calibrationsAssist project-specific Commissioning Engineer as neededJob Specific KnowledgeIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.Mechanical systems knowledgeRead and understand construction documents (mechanical drawings, specifications, etc.)Carry out other duties as assigned.If you're passionate about sustainability and want to work with our team to help solve the critical problems our industry and clients face, we invite you to apply.The hourly rate for this role is $24/hr.The McKinstry group of companies are equal opportunity employers.
