RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY: u2022 Serves as a product expert and is responsible for the procurement of drugs and drug-related items for the Queens University Medical Group (QUMG) Ambulatory Clinics. u2022 Conducts activities in the best interest of QUMG Ambulatory Clinics and performs duties in accordance with ethics, regulatory, accrediting and legal requirements. MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING: u2022 Infrequent: N/A u2022 Occasional: Lift floor to waist between 36-50 lbs. Lift waist to shoulder between 36-50 lbs. Lift waist to overhead between 6-10 lbs. Carry between 36-50 lbs. Push and Pull between 36-50 lbs. u2022 Frequent: N/A u2022 Constant: N/A C. NON-MANUAL MATERIAL HANDLING: u2022 Infrequent: N/A u2022 Occasional: Stand. Stoop/Bend. Twist. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: u2022 Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. u2022 May be required to work with hazardous drugs, depending upon area of assignment. u2022 Work environment may be stressful due to the high volume of telephone calls. IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A. EDUCATION: u2022 Bachelor's degree required; or four (4) years progressively responsible work experience in pharmacy which requires technical knowledge of the various drug classifications, dosage forms, generic equivalents, and sources of drugs may be substituted for the educational requirement. u2022 Post high school course work in financial management and accounting preferred. B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: u2022 Current Hawaii State certificate of registration as a Pharmacy Technician. C. EXPERIENCE: u2022 In addition to the educational requirement, two (2) years experience as a pricer, buyer or technician in a hospital pharmacy or pharmaceutical field. u2022 Knowledge of drug distribution services, policies/procedures and state/federal regulations related to pharmacy operations and purchasing of pharmaceuticals and supplies. u2022 Knowledge of and ability to interpret contractual agreements. u2022 Ability to speak, read, write and understand English both orally and in writing. u2022 Experience with purchasing and inventory control systems preferred.
