Job Description One of Insight Globau2019s top financial clients is modernizing several enterprise applications and expanding their Messaging team. They are seeking a Junior MQ Administrator to support, maintain, and grow their IBM MQ distributed environment across Linux/Unix and Windows platforms. What Youu2019ll Do (Day to Day Responsibilities) MQ Platform Support & Operations u2022u2003Support the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of IBM MQ queue managers across distributed environments (Linux/Unix & Windows). u2022u2003Monitor daily MQ operations including channels, queues (QR, QL, TQ), queue managers, backup/restore activities, and message flows. u2022u2003Troubleshoot common issues such as channels down, queue backups, service restarts, connectivity failures, and security configuration issues. u2022u2003Diagnose system and MQ problems including dump analysis, root cause investigation, and remediation. Environment Ownership & Growth u2022u2003Learn and support the existing MQ environmentu2014understanding why configurations exist, how systems interact, and how messaging flows between distributed and mainframe components. u2022u2003Once ramped, take ownership of managing and supporting the environment independently. u2022u2003Assist in creating new channels, queues, MQ objects, and testing configurations for upcoming development projects. Security & Encryption u2022u2003Work with MQ certificates, encryption configurations, and secure channel setups. u2022u2003Handle FSAR related security requirements and work with vendor provided encryption certificates. u2022u2003Manage MQ user/group permissions and authorization setups. Cross Functional Collaboration u2022u2003Work with developers (distributed and mainframe) to implement MQ changes, support deployments, and resolve message flow issues. u2022u2003Interact with external vendors as MQ channels often communicate across partner interfaces. u2022u2003Participate in Disaster Recovery exercises for global data centers. Automation & System Processes u2022u2003Assist with shell scripting (Bash, Linux/Unix scripts, Python, Perl, Awk) to automate MQ operations. u2022u2003Support operational processes like queue manager recycles, IPL automation, and dump processing.
