Job Description The Agency Youu2019ll Join: The New York City Mayoru2019s Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five boroughs, coordinating public agencies and departments, and managing public property. The Team Youu2019ll Work With: The Office of Intergovernmental Affairs coordinates the City's interaction with the City, State, and Federal Legislative Affairs Offices, as well as the offices of the City Comptroller, Public Advocate, and Borough Presidents. The office keeps the Mayor and the First Deputy Mayor informed about intergovernmental issues and is the liaison between the City and other governments, seeking to foster constructive links between the Administration and these entities. The Problems Youu2019ll Solve: The Advisor, Legislative Advocacy, will be the primary liaison between the Mayoru2019s Office and the advocacy community. This individual will communicate inquiries from advocate partners to the IGA team and its leadership and will steward legislative campaigns and partnerships on behalf of the Mayoru2019s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. This individual will work with other IGA staff to craft supportive strategies and to advance advocacy priorities as needed, and in service of the Mayoru2019s legislative agenda. About You: - You can handle special projects as identified by City Hall Executive Leadership. - You have experience working with community advocates or within advocacy organizations. - You have deep familiarity with New York City legislative processes and relevant entities. - You have personal relationships with advocates and across various advocacy organizations. - You understand how legislative agendas and campaigns function and advance across government entities and other interested parties. Special Assistant (MA)-MGRL - 0668A Qualifications - Bacheloru2019s Degree required. - 5+ years of experience.
