We’re partnering with a precision machining company in Sarasota seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong lathe experience and programming skills. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with CNC setup, operation, and program editing, while also having the flexibility to support both lathe and mill operations as production needs require. This is a great opportunity for a machinist who enjoys problem-solving, precision work, and collaborating closely with engineers and programmers. Schedule & Pay Pay: $28-$34/Hour Key Responsibilities Set up and tear down CNC machine tools (primarily lathes; mills as needed) Create, download, and edit CNC programs (G-code or conversational) Load and unload parts into and out of machines Utilize precision measuring equipment to inspect products and ensure quality Monitor cutting tools, make necessary offsets or adjustments, and maintain optimal machine performance Communicate effectively with engineering/programming staff regarding tooling, offsets, and design changes Troubleshoot machining issues and maintain a clean, organized work environment Qualifications & Requirements Experience: 3+ years operating and programming CNC lathes (horizontal and vertical) Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred Skills: Strong understanding of CNC lathe setup, operation, and machining processes Ability to read and modify G-code programs Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop routing, and engineering drawings Proficient with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, depth and height gauges, etc.) Solid working knowledge of basic math, fractions, and decimals Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Desire to learn and adapt in a team-oriented environment Preferred: 5+ years of machining experience and experience with both lathe and mill equipment
