The role will work with customers following projects through multiple phases from receipt of concept to delivery of finished product. The role will utilize 3D CAD modeling in Tebis, Work NC or Mastercam to support complex customer requests. The role will train and mentor CNC Machinists I and II. The CNC Machinist Senior will use CNC machining, manual machining, and various inspection processes to achieve outcomes. This position is located in Farmington, MI.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop wire frame and solid models, modify imported models, and edit post processors to suit various equipment using Tebis, WorkNC or Mastercam software.Operate CNC machines, lathes and mills, inspect quality, and make adjustments.Receive and interpret direction in multiple formats: verbal, sketches, prints, Computer Aided Design (CAD) files, solid models.Lead planning and setup of multi-phase CNC machining process including troubleshooting, design changes, and issue resolution.Prep, inspect, finish, and join parts using manual equipment and hand tools.Design and machine fixtures and jigs.Maintain machinery, tools, and equipment in a clean and organized state.Submit requests for restocking materials or supplies.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 8 years of experience with CNC machine operation and 3D ProgrammingExperience with 3-axis milling operationsProficient in use of either Tebis, WorkNC or Mastercam softwareWorking knowledge of shop tools including bandsaw, sander, drill press and inspection equipmentBasic knowledge of manual grinding (internal (ID)/ (outer diameter (OD), surface grinding, rotary), honing, lapping, mill, latheAbility to read blueprints and interpret drawings of three-dimensional parts and edit G & M code using machine controllerAbility to use MS Office products and manage files and good communication skillsPreferred QualificationsAssociate degree in Advanced Manufacturing or related field5 years of experience with 3D CNC programming in Tebis, WorkNC, Mastercam or CATIA softwareExperience with polymer or metal model makingExperience with 5-axis milling operationsHigh level of proficiency with Tebis or Mastercam softwareKnowledge of model making, mold making, metal fabrication, composites, Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), wire and sinkerGood knowledge of manual grinding (internal (ID)/ (outer diameter (OD), surface grinding, rotary), honing, lapping, mill, latheAbility to work with all following materials: aluminum, mild steels, medium carbon steel, tool steels, all grades of stainless steels, cast iron, nylon, Delrin, acrylic, copper, brass, and various grades of PhenolicAbility to learn and use 3D scanning methods for quality inspection and design and build tooling, part and assembly fixturesAbility to become International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) certifiedOur full-time benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, earned sick time, STD, LTD, 401K, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, paid holidays, and
