With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.The Airframe Assembly Inspector I (2nd Shift)performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly inspection operations including analyzing the process and recommending process improvements. May be responsible for distributing activities and goals, coordinate and guide technical support groups. Assist with new inspectors, as well as assist in processes analysis.Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly inspection operations on structural assemblies and subassembliesWorks from diagrams and drawings, confirms initial layouts, and uses hand tools to check conformity to specificationMakes continuity checks on work in process and finished workConducts quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specificationsFollows approved inspection procedures for component or aircraft structures, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructionsInspects completed work to identify any needed rework before signing off; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerancesCompletes work package documentation as required by internal quality process and FAA guidelinesReview assembly work for final/in progress inspection and certification of airworthinessObserve the airframe assembly team during bonds, keep time, take pictures, and audit the bond in real-timeTake initiative and be proactive about inspection needs within Airframe AssemblyHigh School or GEDMechanically inclined, familiar with usage of precision instruments and utilization of hand tools to perform inspectionsFamiliar with fabrication of composite partsReads work orders, blueprints, and specificationsKnowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenanceBe proficient in the usage of air powered hand tools and related equipmentKnowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsWorking Conditions/Environment/Special Requirements:Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulationsAbility to work flexible hours and different shifts if requiredWe prefer 1+ years' experience with aircraft composite assembly, mechanical assembly, or aircraft structures as well as able to use all tech data and aircraft drawings, and manufacturing work instructions to perform inspectionsComputer experience Microsft suite (Excel, Powerpoint, and Word)Familiar with paste/secondary bonded structureA&P and mechanical experience a plusCompensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $24-$30 per hour.
