Job Description The Mechanical Engineer will support Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) projects for operating nuclear power plants seeking operation up to 80 years. The engineer will be responsible for aging management reviews, system evaluations, regulatory documentation, and development of Aging Management Programs (AMPs) in accordance with NRC requirements (10 CFR 54) and industry guidance. This position requires strong technical evaluation skills, regulatory understanding, and the ability to develop licensing basis documentation supporting safe long-term plant operation. Day to Day/Key Responsibilities Engineering & Technical Evaluation u2003u2022 Perform Aging Management Reviews (AMRs) for mechanical systems and components u2003u2022 Evaluate degradation mechanisms, including: u2003u2003u25cb Fatigue, thermal aging, corrosion, FAC, SCC, erosion, and wear u2003u2022 Identify and evaluate Timeu2011Limited Aging Analyses (TLAAs) u2003u2022 Review design basis documents and plant operating history u2003u2022 Evaluate pressure boundary components such as: u2003u2003u25cb Piping, valves, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, and reactor support systems u2003u2003 Regulatory & Licensing Support u2003u2022 Prepare licensing basis documentation, including: u2003u2003u25cb AMR reports, system scoping, screening determinations, and TLAA evaluations u2003u2022 Support development of: u2003u2003u25cb License Renewal Application (LRA) u2003u2003u25cb UFSAR updates u2003u2022 Respond to NRC Requests for Additional Information (RAIs) u2003u2022 Support regulatory audits and inspections u2003u2022 Apply industry guidance: u2003u2003u25cb NUREGu20112191 (GALLu2011SLR) u2003u2003u25cb NUREGu20112192 (SRPu2011SLR) u2003u2003u25cb NEIu201195u201110 u2003u2003 Aging Management Program (AMP) Development u2003u2022 Develop or enhance AMPs, including: u2003u2003u25cb Inspection, preventive maintenance, and condition monitoring programs u2003u2022 Evaluate plant programs against GALLu2011SLR requirements u2003u2022 Identify gaps and recommend program improvements u2003u2022 Support AMP implementation strategies u2003 Plant Interface & Crossu2011Functional Work u2003u2022 Collaborate with materials, system, licensing, operations, and maintenance teams u2003u2022 Support plant walkdowns u2003u2022 Review Corrective Action Program (CAP) items u2003u2022 Support operating experience reviews u2003 Documentation & Analysis u2003u2022 Develop engineering calculations and technical reports u2003u2022 Maintain configuration control of technical documentation u2003u2022 Support design change evaluations as needed We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
