All interns will be paid $19/hour and are eligible to earn overtime. Ability to work East Coast hours is required..Job SummaryHoused within the Ad Council's Insights & Analytics Department, the Strategy & Evaluation group is responsible for strategic research and planning of our campaigns, program evaluation, and best practices analyses. This includes qualitative and quantitative research on campaign target audiences and issues; national tracking surveys on behalf of campaigns that measure trends in awareness, attitudes and behaviors, digital and social media analyses, and other research activities as needed. Interest or experience in market research, communications or marketing-either commercial marketing or social good marketing campaigns--is beneficial. Interns are encouraged to attend internal Ad Council staff meetings as well as some client meetings to learn about the campaign development and evaluation process. We also provide time and support for interns to conduct independent research on social marketing relating to Ad Council programs.What you'll do Assist Strategy & Evaluation team members on a variety of campaign-related and internal projects. Join select meetings and discussions, both campaign-focused and relating to internal department priorities and projects. Draft reports in PowerPoint summarizing research project results. Compile and analyze campaign results data, supporting the team in developing cross-campaign performance benchmarks to better contextualize campaign outcomes and set performance goals. Assist the team with landscape and literature reviews and other desk research to help inform campaign planning and strategy. Review and summarize external research studies and/or mine syndicated datasets to which we have access; the main focus is currently TBD but could include social/health issue studies, marketing and media trends, research methodologies, or social marketing effectiveness. Collaborate with Ad Council interns to identify a pressing social or health issue and propose the design of an Ad Council campaign to address this issue. The intern team will work through the end of the summer program to research, develop and present a campaign proposal to the Ad Council staff.What you bring A curious learner with a concentration in the social sciences, communications or non-profit marketing & advertising. Strong analytical skills. Some familiarity with market research methodologies, including survey development and analysis, and qualitative research techniques. Excellent Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word). Some proficiency with data visualization (creating easy-to-understand charts, graphs, etc.).
