This role will be responsible for supporting the firm’s efforts with respect to the proactive identification, evaluation, and presentation of materials relating to potential lateral partner and counsel candidates, globally, while conducting comprehensive market research and assembling competitive intelligence to identify suitable prospective lateral partner and counsel candidates within target practice areas, sectors, and geographic regions. This role will be located in ourNew Yorkoffice. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.Other key responsibilities include:Developing and maintaining detailed market maps to track key talent at competitor firms and other relevant organizationsMaintaining accurate and up‑to‑date records of prospective lateral partner and counsel candidates and talent pipelines within the firm’s applicant tracking system, and ensuring outreach and search activity is recorded in a timely mannerCollaborating with the Research & Analysis team to build and maintain an understanding of the lateral market, including tracking market trends, competitor movements, and industry developments to provide actionable intelligencePreparing candidate materials, target lists, market analysis reports, and presentation decks for firm and department leadershipMonitoring incoming search firm submissions for relevance to, and duplication with, current or anticipated talent identification effortsProtecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retainsWe’d love to hear from you if you:Exhibit outstanding written communication skills and strong attention to detailPossess exceptional organizational skills to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple deadlinesDemonstrate the ability to identify complex issues and escalate appropriatelyAnd have:A bachelor’s degree or equivalentA minimum of two (2) years of experience in legal recruiting, market research, talent intelligence, executive search, or a related function, preferablyExperience working within a large law firm, legal recruitment agency, or professional services environment, preferablyA strong understanding of the legal market, including practice area structures, partnership models, and lateral mobility trends, preferablySuccessful candidates will not only be provided with an outstanding career opportunity and welcoming environment, but will also be provided with a generous total compensation package with bonuses awarded in recognition of both individual and firm performance.
