Job Description Civil Service Title- Associate Project Manager II IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION CANDIDATE MUST BE SERVING PERMANENTLY IN THE TITLE, OR BE REACHABLE ON THE OPEN-COMPETITIVE LIST. Under supervision, serves as a Project Engineer in the Field Operations Unit of Quality Assurance in the Bureau of Engineering Review and Support, Division of Bridges. Visits multiple construction sites and oversees construction activities related but not limited to major bridge components erection, concrete and asphalt placements, embankment, subgrade and base installation, pile driving and drilled shaft installation, reinforcing bars formwork installation, etc. Generates field reports on findings and deficiencies observed during inspection to ensure work complies with project plans and specifications. Have the ability to review design drawings and demonstrate knowledge of NYSDOT Standard Specifications. Verify project and material acceptance records and their compliance with NYSDOT MURK (Material Uniform Record Keeping) requirements. Possess knowledge of concrete and asphalt material properties, principles of mix design, method of placement, concrete curing, and field material inspection and testing. Review the Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) around the jobsite and adjacent streets for the safety protection of the public and motorists. Participates in contractoru2019s progress meetings, QAu2019s meetings, and performs other related duties. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration, and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting, for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects; or 2.
