Position Summary The Consolidations Broking Associate has a strong ability to influence and negotiate with trading partners to achieve optimal outcomes for clients and prospective clients. This position works under the direction of senior staff to coordinate consolidation activities on new and renewal business in support of business retention and production goals. The Consolidations Broking Associate will be knowledgeable of applicable coverages, carrier guidelines, alternative funding arrangements, underwriting, and legislative changes and will build and grow relationships with clients, carrier representatives, and fellow World associates. Primary Responsibilities Coordinate consolidation strategy with World Client Advisors and Account Managers to achieve optimal outcomes for clients and prospective clientsLead a competitive coverage consolidation process and demonstrate strong negotiation skills to achieve appropriate cost, coverage, and capacity targets for clients and prospective clientsMaintain productive and responsive relationships with underwriters at Worlds key Trading PartnersParticipate as requested by senior staff in program design and placement strategy meetings with client advisors and account executivesPromote utilization of strategic Trading Partners critical to maintaining secure and dependable relationships for World to generate optimal outcomes for clients and prospective clientsCollaborate with National Placement resources as necessary to ensure clients and prospective clients coverage needs are comprehensively addressedSupport senior staff in larger, more complex placements as requestedRecommend commercial insurance program designs to the Client Advisor and/or Account Manager after review with senior staffAssist with the preparation of submissions and applications required by the underwriting communityDirect submissions to the appropriate trading partners and negotiate best in class coverage terms, conditions, capacity, and costPrepare coverage comparisons based upon quotations and proposals received from underwritersServe as secondary internal source of information concerning market trends, pricing practices, and other underwriting policiesMaintain focus on World-authorized workflow and standard operating procedures to support consistency across the World enterpriseWork Experience 2+ years experience in Commercial Property and CasualtyProfessional Licenses/Certifications Licensed Property & Casualty insurance producer in resident statePreferred insurance designation such as ARM or CPCU Essential Skills/Competencies Project/process management discipline and follow-throughCompelling deductive reasoning skillsSubstantial inter-personal skills and associate engagement expertiseEffective listening and communication skillsCollaborative natureAction-oriented, ambitious, initiative-takerAnalytical and creative thinkerCommitment to continuous learning and developmentBasic understanding of standard property and casualty insurance programsPurposeful, results-driven, competitive, tenacious desire to winKnowledgeable of the insurance marketplace and keeps current with marketplace changesStrong ability to influence and negotiate with trading partner peers, and achieve optimal outcomes for clients and prospective clientsBroad and diverse knowledge of the global insurance industry marketplace including:Small Commercial and Middle Market account segmentsStandard property and casualty productsExcess and Surplus Lines marketplace and how to accessCommercial Insurance program designsEducation4-year college degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional designation CompensationThis position is located in New Jersey. The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $53,500 to $66,100. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility, and qualifications.
