Job Title: Lead Teacher Early Childhood Employer: St. Lukes School Job Location: 487 Hudson Street, NY NY 10014 Job Duties: Teach early childhood children from ages 4- to 5-years-old. Oversee childrens learning in mathematics, literacy, social studies, and socioemotional development while producing rich curriculums. Create a thematically integrated curriculum. Write individual developmental assessments and early learning reports while documenting the daily, weekly, and monthly experiences of both individual and communal student growth. Prepare and implement differentiation for students of various learning abilities. Provide extra support and enrichment as needed, including meeting with students before and after school. Observe and assess students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments to evaluate students progress. Prepare reports on students and activities. Reports such as progress reports, student evaluations, etc. Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage. Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guest speakers or other experiential activities. Participate in and manage students on school field trips. This includes off-site locations and overnight trips. Gather and analyze teacher data to support the selection of a new school-wide mathematics curriculum as well as guided professional development to faculty in mathematics instruction. Serve as a member of the Heads Council, which is an internal, staff centered pathway to reviewing the everyday experiences of faculty and staff at St. Lukes School. Teach academic disciplines through a whole body approach that blends movement and play with instructional material. Implement social emotional learning (SEL) techniques such as RULERS and Responsive Classroom. Utilize sensory regulation and integration techniques. Apply project-based learning approaches and the Reggio Emilia Approach. Write narrative reports. Employ literacy assessment practices. Requirements: Masters Degree in Education or closely related field and five (5) years of experience in position offered or related position. Must have experience teaching early childhood children; implementing social emotional learning (SEL) techniques such as RULERS and Responsive Classroom; utilizing sensory regulation and integration techniques; applying project-based learning approaches and the Reggio Emilia Approach; writing narrative reports; and employing literacy assessment practices.
