Location: New York, NY Category: System Administration Posted On: Fri Mar 27 2026 Job Description: Job Summary: SUNY is partnering with the New York Public Library to provide currently enrolled SUNY students an internship opportunity in New York City to gain skills and hands-on experience this summer. The internship will run from June through Early August. Intern may be scheduled for up to 35 hours a week based on the operational needs. Intern will have the opportunity to work with the New York Public Library's Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture's Events Department. Job Duties: + Provide administrative and event support at this dynamic and busy cultural institution + Assist with project research on other NYPL institutions that have in-house event space to identify creative ways to enhance our rental services and promote revenue generation opportunities. + Assist with maintaining rental and vendor databases and files, logging payments from rental events, and generating and retaining new clientele for the Schomburg Center. + Supporting staff with logistics associated with special events; assisting with on-site Schomburg events + Liaison with the events team and the operations team on internal work orders for events + Help brainstorm new strategies to harness our social media reach + Assist with creating promotional materials for in-house events and generating ideas for future Special Events and curated events + Assist with conducting tours of the Schomburg space. + Gain insight into how SCH events contribute to the library's overall mission ( and operations. Job Requirements: Required Education/Qualifications: + Must be a student currently enrolled at a participating SUNY campus + Candidates must be detail-oriented, organized, motivated and possess outstanding communication and organizational skills.
