This position will be responsiblefor maintaining and repairing various mechanical systems, with a focuson heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems acrosscampus. Including operations of a central heating plant utilizing steamand/or hot water for tempering or heating building, and a centralchilled water plant to provide cooling to campus buildings. Work hoursare typically 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. May berequired/requested to travel to off-campus sites as needed. On-call dutyon a rotation basis. The mission of the University is:Friends University, a Christian University of Quaker heritage, equipsstudents to honor God and serve others by integrating theirintellectual, spiritual, and professional lives.- Two years HVAC experience is required; three years general maintenance experience is desired.- A high school diploma or equivalent and EPA 608 Type Universal Certificate License to handle refrigerants is required.- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.- Must be able to work in all weather conditions and withstand extreme hot and cold working conditions, loud noise environments; lift 100 pounds; walk and/or stand for long periods of time, and climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Working in the boiler room requires being exposed to non-weather wet, humid conditions and extreme heat; working inside freezers requires being exposed to extreme non-weather cold. Position also requires work in high, precarious places, exposure to noxious odors, loud noises, airborne particles, vibration, and electrical shock.- A valid drivers license is required for this position.
