The Senior Accountant provides essential support to the companyu2019s financial operations by ensuring accurate records, timely reporting, and dependable analytical assistance. This role works closely with the Controller, department leaders, and cross-functional teams to maintain smooth accounting processes and strengthen day-to-day financial activities. The Senior Accountant also assists with problem-solving, documentation, continuous improvement efforts, and provides guidance to junior accounting staff.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport month‑end and year‑end close through journal entries, reconciliations, and reportingMaintain accurate general ledger activity in alignment with GAAPPrepare and review financial statements and supporting schedulesAssist with variance analysis and provide clear, organized financial insightsHelp coordinate audits by gathering documentation and responding to requestsContribute to budgeting and forecasting by preparing data and reportsMonitor internal controls and support process improvementsProvide day‑to‑day guidance and assistance to junior accounting staffSupport special projects, system updates, and operational initiativesSkills and CompetenciesStrong understanding of GAAP and accounting principlesReliable, detail‑oriented, and highly organizedStrong analytical and problem‑solving abilitiesProficient in accounting software and Microsoft ExcelClear communication skills with a collaborative mindsetAbility to support multiple priorities and meet deadlinesPreferred QualificationsBacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3-5 years of accounting experienceExperience in distribution or related industries is helpfulCPA or progress toward CPA preferred
