Description We are looking for a motivated attorney to join a dynamic legal team specializing in tax-exempt organizations. In this role, you will provide expert legal counsel to a diverse range of nonprofit clients, including charities, foundations, advocacy groups, trade associations, and religious organizations. This position offers the opportunity to work on transactional matters and contribute to the full corporate lifecycle of these organizations. Graduation year: 2nd - 7th year associate Responsibilities: u2022 Provide legal guidance to nonprofit organizations on matters related to tax-exempt status and compliance. u2022 Draft and review transactional documents, contracts, and organizational policies. u2022 Collaborate with clients to address legal challenges and ensure regulatory adherence. u2022 Conduct legal research and analysis to support client needs and organizational goals. u2022 Represent clients in negotiations and other important interactions. u2022 Assist with litigation matters related to tax exemptions, if applicable. u2022 Develop strategies and solutions for complex legal and tax-related issues. u2022 Offer insights on governance and operational structures for nonprofit organizations. u2022 Maintain knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, ensuring clients remain compliant. u2022 Manage administrative tasks and maintain clear communication with clients. Requirements u2022 Admitted to the New York State Bar. u2022 Experience working with tax-exempt organizations is required. u2022 Background in transactional legal work is essential. u2022 Knowledge of tax law or litigation is beneficial. u2022 Strong analytical and decision-making abilities. u2022 Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. u2022 Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively. u2022 Licensed attorney with a commitment to ethical conduct and integrity.
