Occupational Summary:u00a0 The Graduate Assistant u2013 Finance & Operations provides analytical and operational support to the universityu2019s Finance Division, including Accounting, Student Accounts, and related operational functions. Additionally, this position contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other faiths, cultures, or backgrounds.u00a0 u00a0 Work Performed:u00a0 General Ledger & Accounting Supportu00a0 + Assistu00a0with general ledger account analysis and journal entry preparation.u00a0 + Support monthly and year-end reconciliation processes.u00a0 + Assistu00a0in reviewing andu00a0maintainingu00a0chart of accounts integrity.u00a0 + Research and resolve discrepancies in financial data.u00a0 Budget & Financial Reportingu00a0 + Assistu00a0in preparation of internal budget reports and financial summaries.u00a0 + Support variance analysis and data gathering for management reporting.u00a0 + Compile and organize financial data for decision-making purposes.u00a0 Process Improvement & Automationu00a0 + Identifyu00a0opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.u00a0 + Assistu00a0withu00a0developmentu00a0of automation tools (Excel, reporting templates, system workflows).u00a0 + Support documentation of financial processes and internal controls.u00a0 + Help develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).u00a0 Student Accounts & Operational Supportu00a0 + Provide support for student account reconciliations and reporting as needed.u00a0 + Assistu00a0with inbox triage and communication management for finance-related inquiries.u00a0 + Support cross-functional finance and operational projects as assigned.u00a0 Special Projectsu00a0 + Participate in special assignments and division-wide initiatives.u00a0 + Conduct research and analysis to support financial and operational improvements.u00a0 Generalu00a0 + Complete all University-required trainings, including FERPA and Title IXu00a0 + Contribute to the overall success of the offices ofu00a0Finance, Human Resources, IT, and Facilities.u00a0u00a0 Requirements:u00a0 + Bacheloru2019su00a0degreeu00a0required.u00a0 + Must be accepted and enrolled full time (at least six (6) credit hours per semester) in a Masteru2019s degree program during the academic year (fall and spring semester)u00a0preferably Business Administration,u00a0Data Science, or a related field.u00a0 + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.u00a0 + Advancedu00a0proficiencyu00a0in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis preferred).u00a0 + Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.u00a0 + Ability tou00a0maintainu00a0confidentiality of financial information.u00a0 + Strong written and verbal communication skills.u00a0 + Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.u00a0 + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.u00a0 Physical Requirements:u00a0 + Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.u00a0u00a0 + Ability tou00a0liftu00a0upu00a0to 15 pounds as needed.u00a0u00a0 Compensation:u00a0 + This is a 12-month position with a contract that requires annual renewal.u00a0 + Monthly stipend of $250.00 throughout the duration of the waiver, ceasing upon completion of the degree.u00a0 + University housing is not provided for Graduate Assistants; however, they may coordinate with the Director of Residence Life to explore availability if housing is not at full capacity.u00a0 + Graduate Assistants will be provided with the 120-day meal planu00a0option. Meals are available only when the dining hall is open for traditional students. + Eligible for fall, spring, and summer tuitionu00a0waiver. The studentu00a0is responsible foru00a0payment of books, general fees, parking, and living expenses.u00a0Must adhere to the Graduate Assistant Policy. + Note: Certain benefits associated with this position (including tuition waivers, stipends, housing, and meal plans) may be treated as taxable income under IRS guidelines. Tax treatment varies by individual circumstance; the student is responsible for any applicable taxes. The university reserves the right to move classes from face-to-face to online modality to ensure a reasonable minimum class size is met, at the sole discretion of the university. Tuitionu00a0remissionu00a0scholarships do not guarantee that any course will be available in any givenu00a0modality, depending upon enrollment.
