The Senior Coordinator, Social Media is responsible for helping position the League as the most engaging and innovative sports brand in social media. The Senior Coordinator will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with all MLS social media platforms, with the goal to create the best possible content experience for our audience and grow the League's foothold in culture.Plan, create, and post content for MLS social media platforms including but not limited to TikTok, Instagram, X, and FacebookProvide and manage social media coverage for live matches on weekdays/evenings and weekendsAssist in daily channel monitoring and community managementCoordinate with internal creative and video teams to develop graphics, videos, and other visual content that tell impactful stories and align with platform best practicesPlan and activate unique, innovative programming at key league events including but not limited to MLS is Back, MLS All-Star, and MLS CupCollaborate across the enterprise on strategies that leverage players, partners, influencers, and/or celebrities to achieve enterprise-wide metricsAssist in the management of adjacent league social media propertiesAdditional Responsibilities as assignedBachelor’s Degree required3+ years of experience in social media, communications or marketing requiredRequired SkillsInnovating attitude and creative spiritAbility and willingness to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPrior corporate/brand experience with social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, X, and FacebookKnowledge of soccer, MLS clubs, and the U.S. and Canadian Men’s National TeamsPassion for and experience in social media marketing, with strong understanding of trends and best practices along with creative copywriting skillsProficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite (or other video and photo editing platforms)Meticulous with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal directionPassionate about providing fans with a great digital experience by listening, interacting and producing innovative contentSuperior organization, project management skills, and attention to detailAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environmentDemonstrated decision-making, editorial judgment, and problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verballyDesired SkillsKnowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency)Prior experience managing team or league handles for soccer and/or sports teamProficiency in graphic design, including Photoshop/Adobe SuiteKnowledge of the sport of soccerTotal RewardsMajor League Soccer offers a competitive starting base salary of $66,500 - $70,000, based on individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
