Early Childhood Education at the YThe Y is a nurturing and inclusive early childhood education center dedicated to supporting the growth and development of young learners. We foster a safe, engaging, and play-based environment where children can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.Position We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Early Childhood Assistant Teacher for our Extended Day program (2:00 - 6:00). The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, demonstrates patience and creativity, and is committed to early childhood development.Key Responsibilities:Assist children with transition to extended day settingSupport children's social, emotional, and cognitive developmentHelp maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environmentSupervise children during indoor and outdoor playAssist with afternoon snacksBuild positive relationships with children, families, and staffStatus: Part-time, FLSA Non-exemptHours: Mon through Fri, 2 pm to 6 pmSalary: $22 - $24 per hour (Salary commensurate with education) Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (required)Associate's degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education (preferred)Previous experience working with young children (preferred)Strong communication and teamwork skillsPatience, flexibility, and a nurturing attitudeWORK AUTHORIZATION & CLEARANCEDocumentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.Must pass the background check, medical form and fingerprinting through the Department of Health.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
