EEG Technologist (Electroencephalography Technologist)Location: VA Puget Sound Health Care System - Seattle, WASchedule: Full-time (40 hrs/week) | Typically Mon-Fri, 0700-1530 or 0730-1600Employment Type: Contract (Full-Time Equivalent)Compensaton: Starting at 55.00/hr plus 5.09 for Health and WellnessPosition OverviewThe EEG Technologist performs electroencephalography (EEG) procedures and related neurodiagnostic testing to support Neurology services within a VA medical center. This role is responsible for recording brain electrical activity, ensuring high-quality diagnostic data, and delivering excellent patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and advanced EEG procedures including awake, sleep, portable studies, and long-term monitoring (LTM/CCTV)Operate EEG and evoked potential equipment to record electrical brain activityPrepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for proceduresVerify patient identity using proper protocols and safety standardsExplain procedures clearly to patients to ensure comfort and cooperationSafely transfer and position patients using proper handling techniquesSet up, calibrate, and adjust neurodiagnostic equipment for accurate recordingsCollect and document patient clinical information and maintain accurate recordsEnsure quality and accuracy of EEG recordings prior to physician interpretationMaintain and troubleshoot EEG equipment per manufacturer guidelinesCommunicate effectively with neurologists, providers, and care teamsMaintain a clean, safe clinical environment and follow infection control proceduresParticipate in quality assurance activities and continuous learningMinimum QualificationsExperience:Minimum of 2 years of current EEG experienceExperience in hospital settings including inpatient, outpatient, ED, and ICUCertification:EEG certification required (e.g., ABRET or equivalent)Licensure:Active, full, and unrestricted license (if applicable per state requirements)Skills & Competencies:Ability to independently perform routine and complex EEG proceduresStrong knowledge of neurodiagnostic equipment and protocolsExcellent patient care and communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a clinical environmentArrow ARC supports Veterans Health Administration facilities and offices across the U.S. with health care staffing and program support via the 10-year Integrated Critical Staffing Program (ICSP).
