Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager to oversee disaster recovery payment operations in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role requires a strong background in governmental accounting and leadership skills to support audits, reporting, and process improvements. Responsibilities: u2022 Supervise and evaluate a team responsible for processing disaster recovery payments, ensuring productivity and adherence to established guidelines. u2022 Assign tasks, provide training, and deliver constructive feedback to enhance team performance and accuracy. u2022 Oversee the management of vendor payments and reimbursements, ensuring all transactions comply with state and federal regulations. u2022 Conduct audits and reviews of financial documentation to maintain proper accounting treatment and adherence to policies. u2022 Develop and monitor financial reports that track expenditures, reimbursements, and outstanding obligations related to disaster recovery programs. u2022 Implement and improve Accounts Payable processes to optimize efficiency and maintain compliance with organizational standards. u2022 Resolve complex payment disputes, vendor issues, and discrepancies in financial documentation. u2022 Coordinate with auditors and stakeholders to support internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses. u2022 Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard financial integrity and accountability. u2022 Provide regular updates to leadership on payment activities, risks, and compliance matters. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, public administration, or a related field, including 18 semester hours of accounting coursework. u2022 Minimum of five years of detail-oriented accounting experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role. u2022 Proficiency in governmental accounting principles, internal controls, and disaster recovery funding structures. u2022 Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team. u2022 Hands-on experience with financial accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications. u2022 Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. u2022 Ability to handle multiple priorities and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. u2022 Familiarity with ACH transactions, invoice coding, GAAP accounting, fixed asset inventory, and general accounting functions.
