Summary: Meta Reality Labs Research is looking for an Art Director to join the team of designers, scientists, engineers, and artists who work across various research initiatives. The centralized design team within Reality Labs Research is a horizontal team that partners closely with a variety of Cross Functional Partners. This person will be responsible for contributing to the overall design process through concept, design development, and delivery of compelling visuals that communicate value to the user. We are seeking a candidate who is a detail-oriented Art Director with a concept-driven approach who understands how form influences function, and is constantly striving for simplicity. You have an in depth experience in your craft, with the capacity to inspire and empower designers on a team to create their best work. Required Skills: Art Director - Reality Labs Research Responsibilities: 1. Collaborate closely with leadership, scientists, research product managers, and others on the design team 2. Create sketches, storyboards, prototypes, presentations, and/or design specs necessary to communicate and guide research development 3. Works in collaboration with research teams to absorb knowledge, define opportunities, and develop concepts and treatments to bring ideas to life 4. Works closely with the Designers and Researchers to implement a cohesive visual style, voice, and tone, thinking about each project holistically and how it fits in the entire research ecosystem 5. Manage work streams in an organized way that guarantees on time delivery and a clear workflow 6. Bridge and manage work between external agencies and internal stakeholders 7. Experienced adapting to various creative styles and mediums, and know how to work with complex, technical research 8. Understands how to incorporate research insights into the work Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: 9. 5+ years experience as an Art Director at a creative agency or an in-house team with a focus or interest in AR and VR 10. High proficiency in art directing illustration, animation, and story-telling 11. Experienced visual designer and systems thinker 12. Expertise in a varied set of styles and technique, with a Practical experience of understanding of color, composition and digital production 13. Experience developing illustration concepts for motion and a desire for telling universal stories 14. Experience coordinating, directing, and guiding the work of other designers on the team 15. Experience o presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills 16. Possesses a focus on the why and the how before the what 17. Online portfolio showcasing relevant work is required (Include link on your resume) 18. Evidenced success with presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the skill to communicate complex, sometimes abstract, concepts clearly and persuasively Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: 19. Demonstrations of visual-storytelling and track record of communicating a creative vision in a compelling way 20. Experience with illustration, icon, and UI systems 21. Demonstrated track record of effectively influencing, building consensus and communicating the skill to design for a global audience 22. Drive a project from concept to completion, with a clear POV 23. Experience with direct illustration work - leading other designers to do inspired work 24. Experience with Unreal and Unity a plus 25. Experience working in close collaboration with Cross Functional Partners 26. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) 27. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) 28.
