This position is located at 521 5th Ave, New York, New York, 10175 United StatesThe Store Detective's main objective is to deter theft by communicating suspicious activity, maintaining a safe working environment, and providing a high level of customer service. The Store Detective will implement loss prevention procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent and minimize external theft and promote a safe environment. The Store Detective will also perform other duties related to shrink mitigation.Completion of daily LP checklistRecover/Apprehend shoplifters within company guidelines.Prosecute shoplifters following company guidelines in partnership with law enforcement agencies.Complete all necessary paper work (Supporting deposition, Lost and stolen property report, APPRISS case reporting.)Ensure the store teams are adhering to Loss Prevention policy and procedureRespond to all safety concerns and threats within assigned locationMust have a valid NYS security guard license1-2 years’ experience within a retail Loss PreventionOutstanding time and attendance history is a critical requirementEffective at developing and maintaining strong business partnershipsAbility to deescalate customer escalations and protect members of the store team as necessaryExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to make quick and decisive decisions in accordance with company policiesProven track record of shoplifting apprehensions/recoveriesAbility and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgencyAbility to maintain a professional work demeanor at all timesAbility to preserve confidential informationWork approximately 35+ hours per week, flexible schedule required on evenings, weekends, and/or most holidays depending on business needsAbility to read/write concise reports in a timely manner. Store Detective must also know basic computer skills to type reportsThis is a non-uniformed position.
