Job Description

Milton CAT is seeking a Service Technician to join our Steam Shop team, supporting the cleaning, detailing, preparation, and movement of heavy earthmoving equipment. This role also assists with yard operations and prep shop activities as business needs require.This position plays a critical part in keeping our service, rental, and sales operations running safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This is a union position. Steam Shop / Wash Bay OperationsClean, detail, and prepare Caterpillar equipment for service, rental, and saleOperate steam cleaners and high-pressure washers to clean machines, components, and partsUse approved chemicals to degrease and detail machinerySupport weld shop operations by cleaning tracks and equipmentMaintain pressure washers, wash bay tools, and related equipmentMix and maintain polymer used in mud areasReview and manage assigned work through the company’s ERP systemCoordinate wash bay workflow to support service and production schedulesComplete accurate service documentationFollow all safety, environmental, and appearance standardsYard Operations & Equipment HandlingLoad, unload, stage, and organize heavy equipment and attachments in the yardSafely move, fuel, and position equipment in and around the yard and wash bayTrack equipment locations and maintain organization of yard inventoryConduct basic equipment inspections and report issues as neededPerform general maintenance and housekeeping in yard areasPrep Shop SupportAssist with light mechanical work in the prep shopInstall, test, and adjust new machine attachmentsEnsure equipment and attachments are properly prepared and operational prior to deploymentGeneral ExpectationsProvide coverage and assistance in related areas such as Yard Attendant dutiesOccasionally work extended hours to meet customer or operational needsPerform other related duties as assignedWhat We’re Looking ForHigh school diploma or GEDComfort working in wet, muddy, greasy, and outdoor environmentsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and safely climb on and around equipmentBasic computer skills (work orders, documentation)Strong attention to safety and detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDependable, positive attitude with a strong work ethicPreferred ExperienceFamiliarity with heavy equipment or construction machineryExperience in equipment cleaning, yard operations, maintenance, or industrial environmentsThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
