Quality and Food Safety Coordinator - Valdosta, GA This is a full-time, exempt position. Job Summary: The QFS (Quality and Food Safety) Coordinator is responsible for managing the daily activities of the site’s food safety program. This position reports to the QFS Manager located at the Valdosta, GA site. Essential Job Functions: Provides leadership, support, and guidance to ensure that Food Safety/Quality requirements are met. Manages, plans, implements, and continuously improves the Food Safety/Quality divisional programs. Enforce Quality goals and KPIs, Food Safety/Quality, maintain Food Safety plan, and supports Operations for continuous improvement. Ensure the processes and systems are adequate to implement, achieve, and maintain 3rd party certifications (i.e., GMP+, SQF, etc.) and FDA compliance (21CFR 507 and/or 21CFR 117). Oversee usage of and provide support for information technology systems (i.e., Policy Tech, APeCS, GEMINI, etc.). Tracks and reports the Cost of Poor Quality to drive continuous improvement in the plant. Work and communicate with the Plant Manager (dotted line reporting) and Superintendent on any quality problems, or issues that arise. Excellent communication, problem solving, and good decision making skills are required. Job Qualifications: Preferred 4 year degree or equivalent 7 year Food Safety experience in a Food manufacturing environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must. Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization, including senior management, customers, and regulatory officials as needed.
