Job Summary and Qualifications Perform phlebotomy procedures to obtain specimens for laboratory testing. Transport, process, and perform clerical duties as necessary fortestingpatient samples.Reports to: Lead Phlebotomist, Lab Manager and Laboratory Director. What You Will Do in This Role + You will greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods. + You will draw blood specimens from patients by using finger sticks, heelsticks,or venipunctures and collect other specimens asrequired. + You will label specimens for identification purposes accurately and enter specimen data into the computer. + You will prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments + You willassistwith clerical duties by answering telephone calls. Licensure/certification/registration: + HR diploma or GED required + Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required or Certification through a clinical phlebotomy program may be considered in lieu of experience + Acute care hospital experience is strongly preferred + Skilled phlebotomy technique; BLS within30 days of hire Benefits Medical City Arlington, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
