Job Description

Investigate, analyze, strategize, adjust loss/expense reserves and effectively manage claims and litigation involving bodily injury, property damage, professional liability, and D&O to achieve the best possible outcomeProvide counsel and take action on coverage issues, factual developments, liability exposure, loss/expense reserves, and settlement opportunitiesProvide outstanding customer service to our policy holders, business partners, claimants, and teammates throughout the organizationAttend mediation hearings and settlement conferences, when appropriateReview insurance policies, and prepare reservation of rights and/or declination letters, as necessarySupport highly successful and growing claims teamAdditional duties may be assignedMinimum 3-4 years of insurance defense experience and/or insurance coverage experience preferredStrong work ethic, excellent analytical skills, and high energyMust be committed to education, learning the law of numerous jurisdictions, team work, and the financial success of our organizationSolid computer skills, including competence with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelCommitment to exemplary customer serviceAbility to travelEducation/License:J.D. degree from an accredited law schoolActive law license in good standing from at least one stateBenefits:Employer paid continuing education courses and designations via access to Kaufman InstituteHealth and welfare benefits including medical, vision and dental401K with employer matchPaid vacation, sick time, and holidaysAccess to Kaufman Wellness ProgramFlexible and hybrid work optionsAtain is an admitted and non-admitted property and casualty insurance company dedicated to serving niche programs and excess & surplus (E&S) markets.
