Now Hiring Mill Operator for Immediate Hire in Shippensburg, PA 10pm-6am- Monday through Friday $25.00/hr plus to start Full-Time / Long-Term Job Description The Mill Operator plays a crucial role within the team, primarily responsible for grain testing and manually adding feed ingredients according to operating procedures. This position involves inventory management, equipment maintenance, repair, and operation, as well as housekeeping activities. Technicians must comply with all company policies and local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Responsibilities + Conduct DON testing, dockage, moisture, bushel weight, and foreign material tests, both manually and automatically. + Manually add feed ingredients, accurately recording medication and vitamin usage. + Develop a basic understanding of animal nutrition and the interaction of ingredients with milling and grinding processes. + Perform routine housekeeping and cleaning of the mill. + Understand and execute general mechanical duties as needed. + Navigate and utilize Laserfiche, The Wenger System, and WEM software appropriately. + Manage ingredient and inventory, maintaining bag inventories in a stacked and orderly manner. + Complete required training in a timely manner. + Perform additional duties as determined by supervisors. Essential Skills + Machine operation experience. + Ability to monitor ingredients and conduct inventory checks. + Experience manually feeding ingredients into machinery. + Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and operate heavy machinery for items over 100 pounds. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent. + At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. + Background in agriculture through education or experience preferred. + Knowledge of feed manufacturing equipment operation and maintenance preferred. + Ability to operate various types of machinery and heavy equipment preferred. + Valid forklift certificate or willingness to obtain one within the first 12 months of employment. + Willingness to work overtime and any shift, including weekends. + Ability to work in confined spaces and dusty conditions.
