This role assists in leading the banquet kitchen team, ensuring high standards in food quality, presentation, consistency, sanitation, and efficiency for meetings, conferences, weddings, and special events. Responsibilities include: + Support senior leadership by developing and assuming basic management responsibilities + Assume the role of liaison between all departments within the culinary division and all other hotel departments + Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items + Develop and implement creative menu items that adhere to Hyatt brand standards + Plan, coordinate & implement special events and holiday functions + Manage hourly kitchen employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring + May manage other key culinary leadership rolls including supervisor and other less senior Sous Chefs + Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results + Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis + Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment Qualifications: _u00b7_ _Previous culinary leadership experience required, preferably as a Sous Chef or Jr. Sous Chef in a hotel, banquet, catering, or high-volume kitchen environment._ _u00b7_ _Strong banquet production experience preferred._ _u00b7_ _Culinary degree or formal culinary training preferred._ _u00b7_ _Proven knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, sanitation, and safety practices._ _u00b7_ _Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality standards._ _u00b7_ _Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple events and production timelines simultaneously._ _u00b7_ _Understanding of food cost controls, product utilization, and labor efficiency._ _u00b7_ _Excellent communication and teamwork skills._ _u00b7_ _Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays._ _u00b7_ _Experience in luxury hotel or convention-style banquet operations._ _u00b7_ _Strong background in plated service, buffet execution, and large-scale event production._ _u00b7_ _Ability to adapt quickly to changing event needs and guest expectations._ _u00b7_ _Passion for culinary excellence and colleague development._ _u00b7_ _Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts._ _u00b7_ _Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull moderate to heavy items._ _u00b7_ _Ability to work safely in a fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold, and sharp equipment._ _u00b7_ _Ability to perform repetitive motions including bending, reaching, and kneeling._ _All qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status._ Primary Location: US-TX-Dallas Organization: Grand Hyatt DFW Pay Basis: Yearly Job Level: Full-time Job: Culinary Req ID: DAL005787Hyatt is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer.
