The Fabricator is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and finishing components made from aluminum, composite materials, and other metals. This role involves working from technical drawings to produce high-quality parts and assemblies while maintaining safety, accuracy, and efficiency in a shop environment.Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders- Measure, cut, and shape aluminum, composites and various metals- Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, routers, press brakes, shears, drills, and CNC machines Assemble components using welding, fastening, bonding adhesives, and mechanical hardware Perform aluminum and metal welding (TIG/MIG) as required- Fabricate and finish composite materials, including cutting, routing, and edge finishing- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards- Maintain tools, machines, and a clean, organized workspace- Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of materials and PPE use- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlinesRequired Skills & Qualifications- Experience in metal and/or composite fabrication- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements- Familiarity with fabrication tools and shop equipment- Knowledge of aluminum, steel, and composite material handling- Basic math and layout skills- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship- Physical ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods- Welding experience (TIG/MIG) preferred- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plusWork Environment- Manufacturing or fabrication shop setting- Exposure to noise, dust, and machinery- Use of PPE such as gloves, safety glasses and hearing protection- Handling of sharp materials and occasional heavy lifting- Typical Products Worked On- Aluminum frames and structural components Composite panels- Custom metal fabrications and assemblies- CNC machine operation or programming- Finishing processes
