Employees may be assigned to perform any task for which they have been qualified. Employees may also be assigned to positions for which they are working to become qualified as a portion of the training process.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Ensure equipment runs at expected speed with minimal down time.Maintain electrical and mechanical reliability of bulk handling packaging lines.Diagnose issues and perform repairs on mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems.Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections. Use CMMS or OEAM to schedule maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Maintain accurate inventory levels of maintenance supplies and spare parts, ensuring timely reordering and restocking through the CMMS or OEAM. Continuous improvement through root cause eliminationSmall capital projectsTrain operators on operation and maintenance of equipmentOther Duties & ResponsibilitiesAs assigned to meet business demands.Assist production operators to understand their needs and provide technical support. Train operators on the proper use and basic maintenance of equipment to prevent misuse and minor issues. Clean and organize maintenance shop as necessary on daily basisOE/LeanIdentifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the reliability and efficiency of production equipment. Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks and ensure all machinery and equipment are in optimal working condition. Assist production operators to with autonomous maintenance procedures and checklist. Implement and sustain 5S principles in the maintenance area.Note: Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Qualifications/Requirements:The requirements listed in the sections that follow are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform the duties of this job. Licensing: Certifications related to Mechanical fabrication, welding, electrical or PLC are preferred.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficient in using CMMS software for maintenance scheduling, record-keeping, and inventory management. PLC knowledge/experience is required. Candidates must possess the ability to troubleshoot automated equipment through analysis of I/O inputs/outputs and ladder logic analysis. PLC programming ability is strongly preferred.Travel: n/aWorking Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, an employee is regularly exposed to dust, loud noise, height, confined spaces, very low and/or bright light, and outside weather conditions.Work Hours: Must have ability to work the shift/number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime, holidays, and weekends, as necessary. Requiring availability to address urgent repairs or emergencies. Safety Equipment: Safety equipment typically required while performing the duties of this job includes a personal red lockout/tagout lock, ANSI approved hard hat and safety glasses with side shields, safety boots/shoes with steel toe protection and metatarsal guards. Additional required equipment includes cut resistant gloves and dust masks when performing duties for cladder machines, and arm protectors and double leather palm work gloves when performing duties for core wire machines. Hearing protection is required when performing duties for the grinding operation and when welding, appropriate welding safety equipment is required. Additional personal protective equipment is available for use if a situation arises where it becomes required or if it is simply desired by the employee.Safety Training: A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is to be provided New Employee Training from a qualified individual, which consists of eight hours of classroom training and 16 hours of on the job training. It will include, but is not limited to, the following: forklift/mobile equipment operation and certification/licensing, hazard communication, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, electrical safety, lock out/tag out, personal protective equipment, bloodborne pathogens, fire fighting/extinguishers, machine safety, confined spaces, reporting of hazardous conditions, accidents, injuries, near-miss and property damage incidents, evacuation/emergency procedures, first aid, back injury prevention, and job/work area procedures.
