Description We are looking for a skilled Controller to join our team in Lexington, Kentucky. This role is integral in managing and overseeing the organizationu2019s financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all accounting functions. The ideal candidate will bring extensive accounting expertise and leadership capabilities to support both internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee the entire accounting cycle, including general ledger management, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. u2022 Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, such as trial balances, aging receivables, and customized financial analyses. u2022 Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions, including transfers and financial adjustments. u2022 Supervise accounts payable, payroll processing, and payroll tax filings through direct oversight of one team member. u2022 Handle treasury functions such as cash management, payments, and maintaining strong banking relationships. u2022 Administer insurance programs, 401(k) plans, investment reporting, and ensure compliance with related regulations. u2022 Lead the coordination of the annual audit process with external auditing firms, ensuring timely and accurate completion. u2022 Maintain adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. u2022 Provide timely financial insights and analyses to support management and the parent organization. u2022 Mentor and manage one accounting team member while fostering collaboration with auditors, banks, and external partners. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; advanced certifications are preferred. u2022 Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including roles as a Controller or Assistant Controller. u2022 Strong understanding of month-end and quarter-end closing processes. u2022 Proven expertise in audits, treasury management, payroll taxes, and benefits administration. u2022 Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, lean environment with a high level of ownership. u2022 Advanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with accounting software systems is highly desirable. u2022 Exceptional organizational and analytical skills to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. u2022 Excellent communication and leadership abilities to effectively manage teams and collaborate with external stakeholders.
