Our hotel has 97 rooms and suites with four distinct F&B concepts led by an acclaimed chef. The street-side seafood restaurant and second floor cocktail bar will be venues that are open to the public. The Apartment and The Rooftop are spaces reserved exclusively for guests and friends of guests.Purpose of the Role:The Event Sales Manager is responsible for driving private events and group business through proactive business development and strong revenue focus. This role owns the full event lifecycle—from initial inquiry through execution and follow-up—ensuring seamless delivery and a high-touch client experience. Success in this role is measured by the ability to generate new business, maximize revenue, and execute events that foster repeat and long-term relationships.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Drive new events and group business through proactive prospecting and lead generationQualify and convert inquiries from all channels, including CVENT, Hyatt, and direct leadsLead client engagement through site tours, presentations, and ongoing relationship managementNegotiate contracts and manage the full RFP process with a focus on profitable outcomesOversee events from initial inquiry through execution and final billingDevelop BEOs, floor plans, and event proposals in partnership with internal teamsCollaborate closely with Revenue Management to ensure timely, strategic responsesManage function space inventory and optimize pricing and utilizationCoordinate with operations, F&B, and external vendors to deliver seamless eventsMaintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and hostingIdentify need periods and proactively drive business to support revenue goalsConduct ongoing competitive and market analysis to inform strategyOther duties as assigned by management.RESONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:Proactively develop new business through targeted outreach and sales travelQualify and convert inbound inquiries aligned with ADR, occupancy, and RevPAR goalsLead site inspections and client engagements to secure high-value businessExecute a strategic sales plan aligned with revenue objectivesRepresent the property at industry events to expand market presenceMonitor market trends and competitive positioning to inform strategyGrow and manage a portfolio of high-value accountsProvide clear reporting on pipeline, production, and sales activityPartner with Revenue Management to ensure profitable business mixREQUIREMENTS:2-3+ years of experience in event, group sales, or catering within hospitalityExperience in New York City or a comparable market preferredStrong understanding of event operations, F&B, and space optimizationProven ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication, organization, and client-facing skillsExperience with Opera, CVENT, Envision, and Microsoft Office; Canva a plusFlexible schedule with the ability to support events as neededPhysical:Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 15 lbs.May require extended time in a seated positionMust be able to move throughout the property with easeUSD $80,000.00/Yr.USD $85,000.00/Yr.
