Job Title: Janitor / Custodian u2013 Weekend Shift Job Description This weekend janitor/custodian role supports a large manufacturing facility by maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment. You work largely independently on-site, performing routine and detail cleaning, monitoring supplies, and ensuring that all areas of the facility meet high standards of cleanliness. The position involves significant walking throughout the facility and offers long-term growth potential as the custodial team expands. Responsibilities + Perform daily custodial duties throughout the manufacturing facility, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and general cleaning of common areas. + Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and recyclables from offices, production areas, and common spaces. + Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, and high-touch surfaces, ensuring they remain stocked and presentable. + Clean up minor construction-related debris and packaging materials in areas where facility build-out or installation work is ongoing. + Operate basic custodial equipment and tools safely and correctly as needed for daily cleaning tasks. + Monitor the cleanliness of assigned areas proactively and identify what needs to be done without constant direction or supervision. + Walk the facility regularly to inspect floors, restrooms, and shared spaces, addressing spills, debris, or hazards promptly. + Use floor maintenance equipment such as floor scrubbers, ride-on machines, or side-by-side equipment when required for floor care. + Maintain a consistent cleaning schedule while adapting to changing facility needs or special cleaning requests. + Track custodial supplies and consumables, and promptly notify the supervisor when inventory is low or needs to be reordered. + Follow all safety guidelines and facility procedures while working in a manufacturing environment. + Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding issues, supply needs, or areas requiring special attention. + Support a clean and organized environment that contributes to efficient manufacturing operations. Essential Skills + At least 2 years of experience in janitorial or custodial work. + Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, or strong familiarity with similar environments. + Proven ability to work independently with very little supervision and to recognize what needs to be done on a daily basis. + Strong sense of responsibility for maintaining a clean and orderly facility. + Experience performing core cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, restroom sanitation, and general housekeeping. + Ability to walk and stand for extended periods while covering a large facility. + Basic knowledge of environmental services and safe cleaning practices. + Willingness and ability to participate in at least a video interview as part of the hiring process. You work around active manufacturing operations and occasional construction-related activity, using standard janitorial tools and floor maintenance equipment such as floor scrubbers, ride-on machines, and side-by-side units. The environment is fast-paced but structured, with clear safety procedures and all necessary cleaning equipment and supplies provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brookshire, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
