The mission of the Early Professional Enrichment Program (EPEP) is to provide first hand clinical experience and exposure to post-baccalaureate graduates who are seeking to apply to graduate medical schooling. This unique opportunity allows for the individual to work alongside medical providers while building a professional network.Responsible for providing a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, advanced practice provider (APP), or registered nurse in accordance with established guidelines and standards.EducationBachelor’s Degree with active plans to pursue advanced degree in healthcare, such as Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program or medical school Required Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program Required orIn Lieu of formal education program, one (1) year of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required Work ExperienceNo experience required No experience is required with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program Required or In lieu of formal education program, one (1) year of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required Licenses and CertificationsBCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA or a similarly recognized certifying organization Required Piedmont Athens Regional Specialty Services
