Overall duties involve providing senior technical and program management support for a multi-million-dollar, multi-site portfolio of advanced and applied research and development projects that are focused on the nuclear stockpile.Location: The opportunity is onsite at the customer site in Washington, DC. Telework is anticipated to be ~10% but is ultimately arranged with the customer.Travel: Travel may be up to 50%. It will vary month to month. The selected candidate should expect to travel at least once a month, with the possibility of travel up to 2-3x a month.Primary Responsibilities:Preparing technical or program management documentation, scheduling requested meetings, and coordinating with government program management staffResearching and preparing background information and/or talking points for meetings to include technological challenges and developments, government and stakeholder concerns or interests, and programmatic updatesCollecting information from a wide variety of sources for executive-level documents, briefings, and reports, and consolidating the material into a finished productPreparing high-level meeting summaries, highlighting action items and due dates, and other key leadership feedbackAssisting with the preparation and assembly of briefing packagesTracking and monitoring progress on ongoing projects and initiatives in a technical portfolioManaging and contributing to meetings on a myriad of technical and programmatic topicsManaging internal and external program reviews and associated planning; coordinating program review logisticsServe as a technical SME on DoD nuclear weapon requirementsSupport Federal customers in meetings that cover system interfaces and associated physical environment requirements, technology readiness assessments, and recommend actions that improve inter-Departmental (DoD and DOE/NNSA) interactionsComplete annual, quarterly, and other periodic reporting requirements at program reviews and meetingsRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 12+ years of experience in a nuclear weapon-relevant field or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 10+ years of experience in a nuclear weapon-relevant fieldActive DOE Q or DOD Top Secret clearanceFamiliarity with systems in the U.S. nuclear stockpileFamiliarity with system engineering & integration and weapon acquisition principles (certification not a requirement)Familiarity with DoD acquisition, nuclear weapons lifecycle, and/or DoD R&D processesWriting skills that are easy to understand, accurate, and concise for a variety of audiencesExperience in developing briefings for senior and executive managementIndependent, self-motivated, and exhibits the highest standards of accuracy and organization skillsProficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft TeamsAbility to travel up to 50% of the timePreferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in a STEM disciplinePMP or other Project Management certificationStaff experience at Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC), Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC), or Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP)Experience at or with Air Force Research Laboratory and/or U.S. Naval Research LaboratoryComprehensive knowledge of DoD organizations involved with nuclear weapons including NWC, OASD(NCB/NM), USSTRATCOM, and others.Participation in an AF or Navy Fellowship at one of the NNSA National LaboratoriesGraduate of the NNSA Weapon Intern ProgramIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
