To that end the Fund directs the state's premier harness racing program designed to stimulate the breeding, buying and racing of Standardbred horses in New York State. The New York Sire Stakes is the nation' s oldest harness racing program of its kind. We believe that these goals can best be accomplished by supporting educational programs, equine research and supplementation of racing purses at New York State pari-mutuel tracks, County Fairs and the Goshen Historic Track. The roles and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:u2022 Assisting the Executive Director and Board of Trustees in the administration of the day-to-day mission of the Fund to promote agriculture through the breeding of Standardbred horses and the conduct of a three-tiered racing program in the State;u2022 Providing general office support including organizing files, assisting with invoice/payment tracking, coordinating meeting logistics, and responding to basic stakeholder inquiries;u2022 Assisting in the operation and administration of racing operations through developing, drafting and assisting in the coordination of the Sire Stakes program with pari-mutuel tracks, Goshen Historic Track and county fairs;u2022 Assisting in coordination the varying aspects of the Fund including marketing efforts, financial planning, operations, security, administration, stakeholder relations and information dissemination employed by the Fund or through contracted vendors;u2022 Attending events and certain races held at harness tracks throughout New York State.
