Forklift Operator u2013 Manufacturing Environment Job Description This role operates sit-down forklifts in a manufacturing environment to move, store, and organize materials safely and efficiently. The position combines forklift operation with general labor, packing, and material handling tasks while working in a busy production facility. Responsibilities + Operate a sit-down forklift safely to move, load, unload, and transport materials throughout the manufacturing facility. + Handle inventory by organizing, staging, and replenishing materials in designated storage areas. + Perform material handling tasks, including lifting, stacking, and transferring products and supplies as needed. + Support packing activities by preparing, packing, and securing products for storage or shipment. + Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and performing general labor tasks. + Inspect forklift and related equipment before use and report any mechanical or safety issues promptly. + Maintain a clean and organized work area, removing debris and materials to support safe and efficient operations. + Assist with general labor duties in production and warehouse areas as directed by supervision. + Use mechanical aptitude to identify basic equipment issues and support simple troubleshooting or adjustments. Essential Skills + Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. + Strong material handling skills, including moving, stacking, and organizing materials safely. + Ability to perform general labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, and packing materials. + Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how equipment functions and recognize basic mechanical issues. + Basic inventory handling skills, including organizing and staging materials. + Commitment to following safety procedures and operating equipment responsibly in a busy production environment.
