Summary: Responsible for all aspects of Occupational Therapy service delivery including evaluation, intervention planning, implementation, and reviewing outcome evaluation. Actively involved in educational opportunities. Manages daily clinical operations in collaboration with director and manager. Demonstrates clinical excellence in area of responsibility. Acts as a leader in department activities including program development, staff training and advocacy in and outside of Rush. The supervisor is an active participant in the interdisciplinary team. The supervisor meets the requirements of all internal and external regulatory bodies. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. Other information: Required Job Qualifications: u2022 Initial certification by NBCOT as an OTR u2022 Meets all state regulatory requirements u2022 Graduate of an accredited ACOTE OT Program u2022 Basic computer skills Preferred Job Qualifications: u2022 At least 5 years of experience as an occupational therapist u2022 Masteru2019s degree in occupational therapy Responsibilities: u2022 Directs the evaluation process including determining the need for services, defines problems within the domain of OT, determines goals, and establishes treatment priorities. u2022 Interprets the information provided by the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) and integrates the information into the evaluation as appropriate. u2022 Develops the intervention plan in collaboration with all team members. u2022 Implements the intervention plan. u2022 Determines the need to modify, continue or discontinue services. u2022 Selects implements and makes modifications to therapeutic activities and interventions that are consistent with patient goals and the patientu2019s socio-cultural context. u2022 Demonstrates competency in providing evaluation and treatment in at least one non-primary section of the Occupational Therapy Department. u2022 Delegates responsibilities to the OTA within guidelines of RUMC. u2022 Maintains departmental productivity standards. u2022 Demonstrates ability to safely lift and/or move therapy equipment. u2022 Demonstrates ability to maintain patient safety. u2022 Demonstrates the ICARE values with patients, colleagues, and interdisciplinary team members u2022 Adheres to policies and procedures. u2022 Maintains accurate and timely patient records. u2022 Identifies areas of need for continuous quality improvement processes and program evaluation in collaboration with director and manager. u2022 Collaborates with the OTA to develop a plan for supervision as appropriate. u2022 Supervises OT practicum, level I and level II OTA or OTR students and other students as directed. u2022 Identifies and pursues own professional growth and development. u2022 Takes leadership role in embracing change. u2022 Identifies problems as they arise and seeks to problem solve solutions independently. u2022 Balance and prioritize patient care treatment with senior responsibilities. u2022 Demonstrates awareness of others who need assistance and is proactive about giving assistance. u2022 Assumes leadership role in supervisor or manageru2019s absence with delegated tasks. u2022 Provides proof of completed documents related to health and education requirements. u2022 Functions according to the AOTA Code of Ethics and standards of the profession. u2022 Supports the practice of practitioner-teacher-investigator model by teaching and following evidenced based practice. u2022 pletes annual performance appraisals with input from manager and director. u2022 Provides ongoing feedback regarding staff job performance. u2022 Ensures staff completion of assigned competencies. u2022 Promotes professional growth of staff. u2022 Facilitates continuing education meetings. u2022 Leads business section meeting in collaboration with manager. u2022 Schedules or delegates scheduling of OT students. u2022 Covers delegated tasks in absence of manager. u2022 Functions according to the AOTA Code of Ethics and standards of the profession. u2022 Supports the practice of practitioner-teacher-investigator model by teaching and following evidence based practice. u2022 Other duties that may be assigned Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
