Description Robert Half Management Resources is currently looking for a non-profit Controller to support a contract to hire role in Columbus, Ohio. Role will be responsible for day to day accounting for a non-profit healthcare provider. Primary responsibilities include: journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial statement preparation. Ideal candidates will also have experience overseeing medical billing. This is a 100% onsite, contract to hire position. Contract period is expected to last 3-6 months. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and review financial statements for management and board reporting, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. u2022 Oversee daily accounting operations, including cash management, payroll, and journal entry reviews. u2022 Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes to support organizational planning and decision-making. u2022 Supervise a small team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. u2022 Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes. u2022 Manage internal controls and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. u2022 Oversee grant and fund accounting, ensuring alignment with nonprofit and healthcare financial standards. u2022 Support audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process. u2022 Utilize financial systems and tools, including fund accounting software, to maintain accurate records and generate insights. u2022 Collaborate with executive leadership to align financial strategies with organizational objectives. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. u2022 A minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. u2022 Proficiency in nonprofit or healthcare accounting, including Medicaid billing and fund accounting. u2022 Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial statement preparation and reporting. u2022 Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software systems. u2022 Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team effectively. u2022 Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. u2022 Familiarity with audit preparation and internal control processes.
